Tango in Durham named one of Britain's best burger brands

Tango in Durham City features in the list by the website Love Food and is listed alongside national brands like Fat Hippo and recognisable names from across the country.

Initially based on Elvet Bridge, where it forged its name as one of the best in the region for its burgers, it moved to a venue on Saddler Street in October last year.

Known for its brilliant combo of flavours, Tango boasts burgers with gravy on, while also offering 'proper chip shop chips'.

And it seems like the Durham City venue has caught the attention of Love Food, who said: "From classic beef to fried chicken, crispy halloumi and vegan patties, this laid-back Durham restaurant has it all.

"If you like to keep it simple, we recommend the Uncle Sam, a classic smashed beef patty with homemade pickles, white onion, lettuce, American cheese, mustard and ketchup.

"Or for something seriously over-the-top, try the Gravy Train Roux, which comes with a rich beef bacon gravy, American cheese, matchstick potatoes and roast garlic mayo.

"Tango also has a lovely terrace overlooking the river, making it a great spot for an al fresco feast when the weather is nice.

Alongside Tango, Lola Jeans in Newcastle and Brach Burger, also in Newcastle, feature on the list.
